The Spindle Drum The compact spindle drum ensures unparalleled precision through its three-piece Hirth coupling. It consists of eight fluid-cooled motorized spindles integrated into the drum. With infinitely adjustable speed control, high dynamics, a compact design, and maintenance-free synchronous drive technology, it guarantees precision
Individual Speeds
During machining, each spindle position and tool cutting edge can be precisely programmed for optimal, adjustable speeds. This results in improved chip removal, superior surface quality, shorter production times, and extended tool life. It also allows machining of high-strength materials previously unsuitable for multi-spindle machines. Speed changes can be made during drum indexing, minimizing secondary processing times

Application examples
Manipulating Workpieces
Utilizing a Linear Shuttle with an Intermediate Gripper
Efficiently removes components from spindle position 8 through swift, position-focused linear and rotary movements. Initially, the workpiece transitions from the synchronous spindle to the intermediate gripper. Subsequently, the linear shuttle transfers the workpiece from the intermediate gripper to the external handling system during secondary processing.
Precise Extraction from the Synchronous Spindle
Axial discharge, facilitated by a gripper and linear cylinder, from the synchronous spindle in positions 8 or 7 and 8 onto the internal conveyor belt, is employed for parts that may not be ejected conventionally.
Workpiece Handling via 6-Axis Robot
The workpiece handling system, suitable for chuck parts and bar segments, accommodates 8-spindle machining with or without synchronous spindle, as well as double 4-spindle machining. A variation includes 4x OP10 (first side) and 4x OP20 (second side) with an external turning station.
3-Axis Linear Shuttle for Precise Workpiece Extraction
Delivers components seamlessly from the synchronous spindle in positions 8 or 7 and 8 to the front-end external handling system without damage. All three axes of the machine-integrated handling system are controlled via NC for precision
